The goal of this course is to introduce learners to child welfare policies and practices focusing on protecting children and youth in care. Learners will develop skills to identify and respond to signs of abuse and explore their roles in engaging and working with families and communities. This course will guide learners through the process of accessing information pertaining to legislation, policies, and standards to support children and youth in community-based care.
Upon successful completion of the course Child & Youth Community-Based Care: Child & Youth Well-Being, the learner will earn a microcredential. A visual representation of the microcredential is issued to the learner as a digital badge. The learner can share the digital badge on a resume, LinkedIn profile, e-portfolio, or other digital network allowing employers to see what the learner can do as it shows evidence of the assessed competencies.
Note: If the learner has prior knowledge that is equivalent to some or all of the competencies for this microcredential, they may be a good candidate for Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR). See details on the program page.
