ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ International Student Guard.me Opt Out

NOTE: Guard.me opt-outs for the Fall 2024 intake are now closed

Late opt-outs or opt-outs submitted by email will NOT be accepted.

All Fall 2024 policies will be effective September 1, 2024, through August 31, 2025, and will be issued by Guard.me directly during the week of September 16, 2024.

The next opt-out period for students with a Winter intake Anniversary will be December 2 through January 17, 2025.

International Student Guard.me

All active international students are required to hold the Guard.me Canada Plan from the first day of their Academic Term unless they can meet the opt-out requirements below.

If you can answer YES to one of the following questions, you can submit an opt-out request via the form below.

  • I have valid New Brunswick Medicare coverage through the end of my academic studies in this year or
  • I have recently changed programs at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and have an existing Guard.me policy that will expire after January 1, 2024.

If your New Brunswick Medicare coverage expires before the last day of your studies for this academic year, an opt-out is NOT available, and it is your responsibility to ensure you reapply for New Brunswick Medicare in advance of its expiry.  Applications for Medicare renewal are not accepted for the purposes of opting out.
