Transitioning Life to College: A Right-Start Support Program

TLC@ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ is a transition program designed to assist students with learning challenges and/or accessibility support needs to adapt to college life.

Note: The next offering for Fall start programs is scheduled for August 30 & 31, 2023. If you’re interested connect with us at learnerservices@nbcc.ca and we will provide more information as it becomes available.

Start the year equipped with skills to help manage your priorities at school and home:

  • For some, college can be intimidating; that is why we bring first-year students together to meet like-minded peers; share experiences and meet new friends.
  • Enjoy workshops designed to ease into your surroundings; learn best practices to manage your course load; and have fun before hitting the books when classes start!

Schedule

Our TLC Schedule is continually being updated and tweaked. When you register, we’ll send you the most current schedule for the next planned session noted above.

What to expect

  • Meet the Academic Coaching and Learner Services team, learn strategies to be successful in the classroom and find out about ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½’s Support Services.
  • Meet fellow students; learn the importance of self-advocacy.
  • Various Workshops such as: Navigating Within a Virtual Classroom, Note-taking, Stress Management, Study Tips, Time Management, and more.
  • A virtual lunch break – more opportunity to connect, ask questions, and perhaps meet a few special guests!

Students participating in TLC@ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ will be better prepared, more comfortable, more knowledgeable, and fully  engaged when they begin college.
