ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ video wins silver at national Prix d’Excellence

you can be 2A recruitment video highlighting the breadth of programming available at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ has won a silver award in the Best Use of Video/Film category at the Canadian Council for Advancement in Education’s annual Prix d’Excellence, which recognizes outstanding work in marketing at post-secondary institutions across the country.

features an original song, with lyrics by ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Director of Marketing and Creative Services Stephen Brander and music by ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ alumni Alex Madsen, that lists the many programs available at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. The one-minute TikTok-style video stars ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½’s Marketing and Brand Coordinator Kaisa Valente as she dons the many different work wardrobes the College’s graduates wear on the job – everything from a mechanic’s coveralls to a health professional’s scrubs to a chef’s whites.

“Initially, the video was developed as part of our recruitment process, to be shown to potential students,” said Brander. “We wanted to create a video that spoke to the audience, while delivering the message that ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ has a wide range of programs, with something for everyone.”

The video was conceived and developed by ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½’s in-house Marketing and Creative Services team. Madsen, who had previously penned the song about his experience as a mature learner at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, was called upon to lend his voice to Brander’s lyrics.

“The Prix d’Excellence Awards recognize the best of the best in post-secondary marketing, and ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ stands up really well against the competition,” said Heather Allaby, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½’s Vice President, Engagement and Experience. “The creativity of the concept and the quality of the production provide a visual connection between ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ programming and the many industries we support with trained graduates.”
