ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ welcomes new and returning learners

The days are getting shorter and the leaves are slowly starting to change colours – sure signs that back-to-school time is here. New Brunswick Community College (ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½) is opening its door to thousands of new and returning learners, from New Brunswick and beyond, on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

“At ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, we’re committed to opening our doors as widely as possible to welcome more learners,” said Marilyn Luscombe, President and CEO of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. “Our province’s changing demographics make it more important than ever that individuals of all ages, backgrounds and aspirations have opportunities to successfully pursue post-secondary education.”

In 2017-18, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ served more than 8,000 learners in its regular diploma programs, continuing education courses , specialized training and apprenticeship programs. ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ offers traditional classroom programs along with online and part-time courses, as well as professional development opportunities.

“Learning is a lifelong pursuit,” said Luscombe. “Whether you are just beginning your learning, looking to upgrade your skills, developing new expertise or seeking personal development, you belong to our learner community.”

A particular area of growth for ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ in recent years has been international enrolment. The number of international students at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½’s six Campuses has been steadily increasing over the last three years as the College has increased its focus on international recruitment.

While official enrolment numbers will be finalized later in the fall, it’s anticipated that the number of new international students across ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ will be double that of 2017-18, the result of a concerted effort to reach beyond New Brunswick’s borders.

“ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ is committed to welcoming more international learners,” said Ryan Sullivan, Director of International Education. “The increases we are seeing are the result of a collaborative strategic enrolment management approach across the College and targeted investments in international recruitment.”

This year an estimated 50 countries will be represented among ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½’s international student population.

With over 90 programs and six campuses across New Brunswick, New Brunswick Community College (ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½) is a provincially recognized post-secondary institution renowned for producing skilled, knowledgeable college graduates. ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ offers students full-time concentrated study periods in one- and two-year certificate and diploma programs. For more information, visit: .
