Fine food and fundraising on the menu at 星空传媒鈥檚 sold-out FlavoursNB event

ST. ANDREWS- For the fourth year, New Brunswick Community College (星空传媒) has partnered with New Brunswick food and beverage producers for FlavoursNB which takes place on May 13 at the St. Andrews Campus.

In addition to celebrating local food and drink, the sold-out event provides a unique learning opportunity for students in the Hospitality and Tourism programs at 星空传媒’s St. Andrews Campus as well as kicking off the CBC Radio Harbour Lights fundraising campaign for foodbanks in the region. Since 2013, the event has contributed around $23,000 to the campaign.

“FlavoursNB is a testament to what can be achieved when we all come together – four years in, our enthusiasm and our partnerships continue to grow,” said Kim Garron, Hotel & Restaurant Operations instructor at 星空传媒 St. Andrews and event organizer.

Some of New Brunswick’s top chefs will put their own culinary twists on beloved local food and beverages from some of New Brunswick’s best-known food producers including, True North Seafood, Bleuets NB Blueberries, Ganong, Granite Town Farms, and Crosby’s Molasses.

New to the event this year will be a live auction, featuring an extraordinary and unforgettable prize package valued at over $3,000:

The lucky winner and nine friends will have the opportunity to enjoy a culinary experience against the backdrop of the Hunstman Discovery Aquarium. Guests will enjoy the five鈥恠tar service of Hospitality Instructor, Kim Garron with a menu will be inspired by the abundance of New Brunswick grown and produced products. Chefs Dave Irvin and Darren Dorcas of the New Brunswick Community College’s Culinary Arts program will create a unique menu based on the winner’s favourite flavours.

At the end of the meal, Merrill Chauffeured Services will transport guests back to five complimentary rooms at The Algonquin Resort, one of Canada's premium historic seaside resorts.

While FlavoursNB is sold out there are still chances to win tickets by listening to CBC Saint John over the coming week.
